Salesforce 2023 Highlights

Having started at ServicePoint Solutions in February this year, I’ve felt like part of the team since day one. I’ve loved settling into the role, getting to know everyone and having a much improved work/life balance! Passing my Salesforce Admin exam first time was a big win for me, but my biggest accomplishment is the projects we’ve completed as a team and the issues that we’ve solved along the way. It’s great to be part of a team that combine so well together to solve any complications that we run into along the way
It’s also been great to have the opportunity to take a trip away nearly every month this year. Unfortunately, I’ve also had many trips to Old Trafford!

This year had me leaping out of my comfort zone both personally and professionally! The biggest highlight that pops out is not only being selected to speak at London's Calling, but actually having over 100 people turn up for my talk. It was insane!
Outside of work, I've started fell running at the start of the year and come October time I was taking part in the British Fell Relay Championship! I finished basically last but I got caked in mud and had a huge smile on my face the whole time!

When I am thinking about 2023, I am thinking about people – new faces and people that I could reconnect with, people that I met for the first time and the ones that looked familiar but I have never seen them in person.
After two years without much travelling, 2023 gave us the chance to move around again. The community Dreamin' events (for me Prague, Brussels and Paris) came back, as well as Dreamforce for everyone; we could jump into networking in person again.
What a pleasure to meet in person in Prague some fellow students and teachers from amazing Scale Up program (after virtually spending together so many evenings) or to spend time with user group leaders (Community Leaders breakfast in San Francisco) only known from the camera capture on zoom! I definitely know that all these events gave me a special energy and made me want to continue to grow in Ohana and to give back even more.

Gaining my first Salesforce Certified Developer credential at the age of fifty five is a huge 2023 highlight for me. In fact, it’s my first developer certification of any type. Don't get me wrong, I had previously attained four Salesforce certifications and three Google Workspace certifications so it’s not that I wasn't used to collecting certs, it’s just that I never considered myself a developer.
With my admin and consultant certs, I had always considered myself a clicker-not-coder. By designing and building Zumzum Financials Accounting for Salesforce, I was increasingly exposed to hiring and managing Salesforce developers. With some of the new Salesforce innovations, like Salesforce DX and more recently DevOps Centre, I’ve been immersing myself in code and “Codee” conversations, so I thought it was about time I added some credibility to my opinions by getting myself Salesforce Developer certified. As I attained the developer certification in January 2023, it certainly got me off to a great start for the year.
