Name: Jordan Buckley
Job Title: Salesforce Consultant
Tell us about your day-to-day role at ServicePoint Solutions.
Most days start the same way, checking emails, specifically looking out for correspondence from clients. From there, I will try and plan my day as efficiently as possible. Because I am still fairly new I take a fair bit of direction from the lead consultants, helping them out with any project work. We do have a daily stand up internally to either ask work questions or have a bit of a natter/laugh, sets you up nicely for the day! I have very recently had my own mini project to complete, so my day-to-day tasks varied slightly from the above as to be expected.
What are your hopes and dreams for 2024?
Keep doing what we are doing, I’ve only been here for just over a year and it’s been great. More ups than downs, in fact the downs are so rare I genuinely couldn’t name any! Clients we have are good, can have a laugh and there is always support on hand if you’re struggling.
What’s it like to work with the ServicePoint Solutions team?
I’m not from a ‘conventional’ background, I served in the Army then when I left, I was stuck behind the wheel of a HGV (including a stint sleeping in one all week, every week!) - I was concerned I wouldn’t be well received but I can hand over heart say, everyone made me feel welcome and I can still remember on my first day, it felt like I had been here for years. It’s an inclusive and supportive team and if you’re having a bad day, you can guarantee someone will crack a joke that will be that bad it makes you laugh! More importantly there is a genuine will and desire to learn and share new skills with each other which heavily improves our overall efficiency as a team.
What makes ServicePoint Solutions stand out as a company/employer?
As a company, care and attention. As an employer you will never work for one like this one! I've worked in a Government Organisation, worked for blue chip companies etc non have made me feel at ease the way ServicePoint do. I'm given trust and autonomy to work my own schedule (so long as Client calls are completed) - this gives me flexibility to work around my kids.
What inspires or motivates you?
First and foremost it’s my family, my amazing wife who I have the pleasure of working alongside (paid to say this bit) and my two amazing children (not paid to say that bit).
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Spending time with my family, the kids are growing up far too fast, such as life! Going out for walks, driving round the country visiting family we don’t get to see too often.
Tell us a random fact about yourself
I served in the British Army from 2014 to 2019. Oh! I am also qualified to drive fuel tankers. I think that counts as random, I don’t have a pet dragon or anything like that.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Not as such, I will however be at the front of the queue for anything dangerous! Although, admittedly this has faded somewhat since becoming a father.
Favourites (and Why):
Film: Love actually…nah, I’m just kidding! Kajaki, based on true events and I think the story should be told. Go check it out!
Song: Oasis 'Cast No Shadow.' Song written for a Mr Richard Ashcroft (The Verve). “Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say…Chained to all the places he never wished to stay…” - I think along with everyone else who likes this band, they were real, working class lads who grew up poor. Alot of people can relate to their lyrics in some way shape or form! Looking forward to the reunion…maybe? Who knows.
Animal: Dog - specifically Belgian Malinois. Very intelligent, if trained right, one of the most loyal and protective dogs on the planet!
Place: Skipton. Definitely. Where me and my wife first met.
Food: American pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs with a generous amount of maple syrup over the top. How could you not??
